Aron Domzala joins FIA WRC Academy ranks for Spain

The FIA WRC Academy will welcome another new recruit to their ranks next month as Poles Aron Domżała and Kacper Pietrusiński take to M-Sport’s Ford Fiesta R2 for the season finale at the 2012 RACC Rallye de España.

Domżała will profit from all that benefits WRC Academy driver on-event – including a chance to put his questions to Ford World Rally Team’s drivers and a once-in-a-lifetime lesson in stunt driving from the Top Gear Live team – as well as having the opportunity to pit his speed against some of the fastest and most promising young drivers in the sport.

A fan of motorsport from a young age, Domżała began his rallying career in 2008. Contesting numerous rallies with various cars, the youngster contested his first fully fledged championship this year when he competed in the Castrol Edge Fiesta SportTrophy as part of the Polish Rally Championship.

Securing his first victory at Rally Rzeszów earlier this year, the Pole is ready to test his speed against some of the most promising young talents in the sport as he steps up to the next big challenge in his career.

Supported by Ford Racing in Europe and with control tyres from Pirelli, the final round of the WRC Academy will kick-off in Barcelona on 8 November.

Aron Domżała said:

“I cannot wait to drive some incredible stages on the world stage! I hope to get a lot of experience from this event which should help me in the Polish Championship as well as when I step up to do more international events in the World Rally Championship.

“Competing in the WRC Academy will give me the chance to compare my speed with some of the fastest young drivers around. I have been following the series right from the beginning and it was always something I dreamed of taking part in!”
