The MSA British Rally Championship attended the Trax Performance Car Show for the first time this Sunday, displaying a selection of cars at the packed Silverstone-based event.
Representation came from official BRC teams M-Sport Ford with Steve Røkland’s Fiesta R1 rally car, AVS Motorsport with Tony Simpson’s NGK Spark Plugs BRC Challenge Fiesta ST as well as Twingo Trophy technical partners Monster Sport Europe with the Twingo R1 used by Keith Cronin at the start of this season.
BRC official Manufacturer Renault UK also supplied the awesome F2 Mégane kit car and the Laguna touring car from the heritage collection as well as a selection of Renaultsport road cars to help make an impressive display.
Also making an appearance later in the day was BRC contender James Grint, sadly minus the Citroën DS3 in which he is contesting this year’s championship for the first time. Whilst unharmed, he and his co-driver had a high speed off on Saturday’s Woodpecker Stages and while AVS Motorsport boss Garry Jones reckoned it was repairable, the green machine was in no state to be at a car show.
BRC partners Ravenol Oils, Competition Car Insurance and Mantis were represented, taking advantage of the (mostly) fine weather to promote their brands to a wider audience. Also attending alongside the BRC and its teams were the International Rally Drivers Club, who helped run a competition to win a ride in a rally car at the MSA British Rally Championship Open Day on September 21st.
The final round of the 2012 season takes place a week after the fourth annual Open Day in Scarborough and the North Yorkshire forests on International Rally Yorkshire (28/29 Sep). The event features a night stage on the Friday where fans can see both historic and modern cars. Spectator packs are available HERE.
