Andreas Mikkelsen entertains the UK media at Millbrook

Andreas Mikkelsen has spent this week in the UK working on a variety of media activities with ŠKODA UK Motorsport.

After winning the Sibiu Rally, the Intercontinental Rally Challenge champion flew from Romania to London, via Vienna, on Sunday and enjoyed a day off in central London on Monday before travelling north to the Millbrook Proving Ground in Bedfordshire for three full days of media engagements.

The star of the show gave a number of lifestyle journalists from the likes of Loaded (men’s magazine), Whitelines (skiing), MPORA (action sports) and Extreme magazine high-speed rides in a Fabia S2000, as well as features with Autocar, Top Gear Online, CBS Motoring and the Press Association.

In addition to some incredibly spectacular high-speed donuts and some very happy journalists, the highlight of the three days was when ŠKODA UK Motorsport boss Cathie Sleigh went for a ride with Andreas. Despite promising for 18 months to do this, no-one really thought they’d actually live long enough to see Cathie climb into a Fabia S2000 and be driven at speed – but she loved it and Andreas still has is job!

“The weather’s been great, I’ve had three days doing fast runs and donuts in a Fabia S2000 and I’ve met some really nice people – what could be better,” said Andreas.

Now we’re traveling to Oslo for two days, before we’re heading to Rally Finland!
