WALES RALLY GB AND PROPER WELSH MILK DELIVERING MORE THAN JUST DAIRY
Wales Rally GB, the British round of the FIA World Rally Championship, has teamed up for the second year running with The Proper Welsh Milk Company. The partnership will see rally fans that purchase promotional packs of Proper Welsh Milk being given the chance to win Gold Rally Passes to the international sporting event, which runs from Llandudno to Cardiff and takes place from 13th to 16th September 2012.
Proper Welsh is the fastest growing dairy in Wales, with all of its milk produced and bottled in Whitland to reduce the distance between farm and fridge. Set up in 2011, Proper Welsh produces over 750,000 pints every month, delivering to more than 60 retailers, including many Tesco supermarkets throughout Wales.
Richard Arnold explains: “Proper Welsh Milk aims to bring local milk to the whole of Wales. Nowadays there is so much emphasis put on lowering the mileage of food products before they’re put on the shelf. An average journey of 360 miles for milk is what Proper Welsh is trying to alleviate, helping to support local farmers and supply Wales with a quality, local product.”
Information about the Proper Welsh Milk Company and Wales Rally GB promotion can be found on promotional collars on milk bottles in Tesco stores in Wales between now and Friday 24 August. All entrants to the competition will be sent a promotional code delivering a ten per cent discount on adult tickets to the event.
RALLY STARS DESCEND ON 2011 SPORT VENUE OF THE YEAR
Next month will see the UK’s best hotel, spa and golf resort* – and 2011 sport venue of the year** – Celtic Manor Resort transformed, as the British and international stars of the FIA World Rally Championship descend on the venue for Wales Rally GB.
Eight-time World Rally Champion Sébastien Loeb, and his fellow WRC stars, will be visiting Celtic Manor Resort for an all-new special stage on Saturday 15th September, arriving at the venue in the early evening for some thrilling twilight rallying. Spectators will enjoy superb views from elevated viewing banks as a full field of WRC cars compete alongside the award-winning Twenty Ten Ryder Cup course.
Clubhouse hospitality packages are also available which include balcony views of the start line, a three-course dinner with wine and the option to add on a night’s luxury accommodation in the five-star Resort Hotel.
The Celtic Manor Resort, perhaps best known as the base for the 2010 Ryder Cup, is set in more than 2,000 acres of panoramic parkland and features two hotels, two spas, two health clubs, a shooting school, fishing, adventure golf, a treetop high ropes course, tennis courts, mountain biking and walking trails.

DON’T MISS THE CLOSING DATE FOR ENTRIES FOR THE WALES RALLY GB NATIONAL
The entry deadline for Wales Rally GB National is just a couple of weeks away, falling earlier than usual on Friday 24th August.
For the third consecutive year, the FIA World Rally Championship event in Wales is giving up to 100 amateur drivers the chance to compete on the same stages as eight-time champion Sebastién Loeb and his fellow WRC stars.
Wales Rally GB National takes place from Friday 14th to Sunday 16th September and will feature many of the same stages as the pan-Wales WRC route. Day one will begin in Newtown, with stages in Dyfnant, Hafren, Sweet Lamb and Myherin. On Saturday, competitors will take on Crychan, Epynt and Halfway. While on Sunday, the action will culminate with stages in Port Talbot and Rheola, finishing with the Likes Land Rover at Walters Arena stage.
The deadline for entries is Friday, 24th August and both historic and contemporary cars, as well as cars complying with FIA Appendix K regulations, are welcome. Wales Rally GB National has been oversubscribed in previous years and, as a result, the organisers have opened up the event to a maximum of 100 entries, accepted on a ‘first come, first served’ basis.
The entry fee of £665 + VAT includes 100 miles of competitive stages and those interested can download the NATIONAL REGULATIONS and ENTRY FORM from the www.walesrallygb.com.
