News from Wales Rally GB with two months to go

Entries are now open for both the 2012 Wales Rally GB and 2012 Wales Rally GB National!

Regulations and Entry Forms for the International event can be downloaded from the official website, while those interested in taking on some of the same stages as the WRC competitors can download the National Regulations and Entry Forms.

With room for up to 100 national entries, the Wales Rally GB National offers Britain’s amateur rally drivers the rare opportunity to compare their times with the world’s best professional drivers over 9 timed special stages – normally the preserve of established WRC teams.

Covering over 100 miles of some of the most famous stages in the UK, the event will start from Newtown on Friday morning with overnight halts in Cardiff on Friday and Saturday before the ceremonial finish in Cardiff Bay on the Wales Rally GB podium on Sunday afternoon.

COME AND MARSHAL AT WALES RALLY GB!
Wales Rally GB is on a recruitment drive for volunteer marshals!

Volunteers are the lifeblood of Wales Rally GB and an integral part in the success of this international event. Everyone takes the greatest pride in their roles, from the marshals responsible for the smooth and safe running of each stage to the volunteers running stage car parks in return for charitable donations.

Information about volunteering at the UK’s round of the FIA World Rally Championship, an event which attracts the world’s best rally drivers, cars and fans from across the globe, can be found here.

TICKET OPTIONS
Tickets for the 2012 Wales Rally GB are on sale at www.walesrallygb.com with prices starting from £20 per adult for the forest stages. A limited edition celebratory 80th anniversary Gold Rally Pass is also available on a ‘first come, first served’ basis and provides access to all four days of action.

The Gold Rally Pass provides access to all stages, car parks, qualifying and service areas. The pass comes with its own unique gold lanyard, an exclusive keyring and a complimentary copy of the 80th anniversary DVD which retells the history of one of motor sport’s most iconic international events. The cost of the Gold Rally Pass will be £130* – far cheaper than buying the tickets individually.

Forest car park tickets are available for £20*, or £25* on the day, while tickets to Wednesday’s qualifying stage are priced at a mere £15* in advance. Access to the start and finish ceremonies is free of charge, with the Llandudno start venue also including an autograph signing session, as well as demonstrations and displays to celebrate the 80th running of Rally GB.
