Mads Ostberg out of hospital following shakedown accident

Rally Bohemia is over for Mads Østberg and co-driver Jonas Andersson after crashing their Ford Fiesta RRC during shakedown for Rally Bohemia in the Czech Republic saw the 24-year-old Norwegian taken to hospital for checks on his back.

”He is checked out from hospital and on his feet again,” said team manager Morten Østberg. “The doctors feared his back may have been broken in two places, but gladly it wasn’t that bad!”

Unfortunately, the duo will take no further part in this weekend’s event. Co-driver Andersson was unhurt in the accident and the team will try to make it back to Norway tonight where Østberg Snr. has already made an appointment with a specialist for Østberg Jnr.

”Mads was supposed to go to Estonia next weekend, but we have to see how he is doing before we make up our minds,” admitted Østberg snr.
