BRC launches latest App update

The MSA British Rally Championship’s new mobile application has taken another step forward with the introduction of a specific version for the Blackberry Playbook and Apple iPad mobile tablets.

The new versions allow more of the app functions to be seen on the larger screens associated with tablet mobile devices and developers YNiL are very pleased with the progress:

“The iPhone app was already available to download on the iPad, so anyone who has already loaded it should revisit the iTunes Store and download the new iPad version to access the additional features for free.” said YNiL’s Neil Burgess. “But the Blackberry Playbook version is brand new and is the first step towards making the app available for Blackberry smartphones.” (Download via Blackberry App World)

Another innovation that will be seen for the first time on the Pirelli International Rally will be a BRC App WiFi hotspot in the rally service area; Neil Burgess explains:

“Once the app has been downloaded, it obviously requires a mobile data signal to access the information. But with the new BRC App WiFi Hotspot, it will be possible to access the data using dedicated WiFi in the service area.”

The BRC App WiFi Hotspot will be located around the British Rally Championship’s area at the Carlisle Racecourse service park and will not require a specific login for those using the app. The hotspot will be restricted to allow download of results, news and driver quotes.

Even more good news for fans of the MSA British Rally Championship is that Duke Video’s 2011 season review is now available to download via iTunes HERE.

Round three of the MSA British Rally Championship, the Pirelli International Rally, takes place on Friday & Saturday 27/28th April and is based at Carlisle Racecourse.
